Put people first and the profits follow

A lesson on prosperity from the reinforced concrete pipe industry.
What does business success look like? Bigger revenues? Delivering the best product? More market share? Operating at peak efficiency? They’re all pieces of the puzzle, but something important is missing from that list. Some folks might call it “people over profits.” Others may say that’s being too idealistic, because every business exists to make money.
We’ve found that the following maxim holds true: “Put people first and the profits follow.”
(This post is the second in a two-part series on the power of empowering your people. You can click here to read the first post on how leading with a service mindset builds stronger teams and results.)
At AmeriTex, we’ve built state-of-the-art facilities to revolutionize how reinforced concrete pipe is made. But we wouldn’t be the premier provider in Texas without our people. From our production and quality control team creating our products, to our entire distribution fleet delivering them safely, not to mention our sales team out sharing knowledge with our customers, we’re all committed to a singular vision: providing the highest quality product every time. It’s more than the satisfaction of a job well done. We have each other’s backs. By supporting each other, we’re all able to support our families and build better lives together.
As I described in the first post in this series, by helping others grow, we all thrive. The positive impact of this service-minded philosophy goes beyond our families and neighborhoods and extends throughout our state.
AmeriTex is also committed to serving our entire industry in Texas through our participation in the Texas Concrete Pipe Association, the Texas Aggregates & Concrete Association and other organizations. We believe that by supporting our peers, we can improve this business for everyone. The proof is in the results.
According to an independent analysis, the reinforced concrete pipe industry generated the following economic impacts on the Texas economy in 2018:
· $635.8 million in direct sales
· 4,960 local jobs generated
· $341 million in paid wages and benefits
· $58 million in state and local tax contributions
Those benefits ripple throughout local economies for a total $1.2 billion of economic output across the state. All of that prosperity is driven by people coming together to do their best. That’s the real definition of success.
We couldn’t be more proud of the role that AmeriTex plays in our economy and the lives of our team members and their families. I invite you to read more about how we do business, or contact us to learn how we can exceed your expectations.
Focused on your success,
Rocky
