Reinforced Concrete Box
Our rigorous attention to detail and quality control are essential to ensuring we can supply any and all drainage or underground detention projects throughout the state of Texas. Our manufacturing capabilities range from 3’ x 2’ to 14’ x 14’. In addition to the multitude of federal, state and local specifications, our boxes are also manufactured in accordance with the following ASTM and AASHTO specifications:
- ASTM C1433 — Precast Reinforced Concrete Box Sections for Culverts, Storm Drains and Sewers
- ASTM C1577 — Precast Reinforced Concrete Monolithic Box Sections for Culverts, Storm Drains and Sewers Designed According to AASHTO LRFD
- AASHTO M273 — Precast Reinforced Concrete Box Sections for Culverts, Storm Drains and Sewers with Less Than Two Feet of Cover Subjected to Highway Loadings
- AASHTO M259 — Precast Reinforced Concrete Box Sections for Culverts, Storm Drains and Sewers
Reinforced Concrete Boxes are used on projects where wider and shallower drainage structures are needed and where round pipe cannot provide adequate flow capacities. Additionally, because of the flexibility of RCB design, precast box culverts can be used in place of cast-in-place box culverts and multi-barrel circular culverts, as well as for short span bridge replacement.
Reinforced Box Culverts can also be used for the following:
- Highway culverts
- Railroad culverts
- Short-span highway bridges
- Storm drains
- Utility tunnels
- Underground storm water detention/retention systems
- Jacked or tunneled installations
